This series of landscape photographs were taken as long exposures containing reflections of trees in winter in the water. Locations were sought out where the water was close enough to give a mirror image of the trees and shot so that exactly half of the image was the actual trees and the other half the reflections. I did not want the imagery to simply look like it had been flipped to create the refection and create perfect symmetry so the introduction of long exposure photography slightly distorted and added an abstract element to the series – hence the title; Broken Symmetry.
